Patrick McDermott FOUND
PATRICK McDermott, who went missing in June 30, 2005 on an overnight fishing trip out of San Pedro, California USA, has been found "alive and well" in a quiet little Mexican village.
A private detective, hired to discover the whereabouts of McDermott, has tracked him down to the village of Sayulita, where he has been working as a ship's mate on a tourist yacht.
McDermott vanished in 2005, days after ending his nine-year relationship with Newton-John, and was not discovered during an exhaustive search when he disappeared during a fishing trip.
At the time, he was reported to be in financial trouble, behind in child support payments, car repayments and rent.
This week, private detective Philip Klein revealed he had been given "proof of life" by a representative of McDermott, including a voice recording. The rep also requested that "Pat simply wishes to be left alone and to, Stop this search immediately".
Residents of the tranquil Pacific coast town are reported to be astonished that the gentle man they know as Pat Kim has been the subject of a worldwide search and enduring mystery.
One hotelier resident reported, "We realised who he was, but nobody was bothered. This is a pretty relaxed place."
Despite claims that McDermott had staged his death to receive the payout of a life insurance policy, he has in fact made no such claim, and payments on this policy have continued since his disappearance. There is no indication that he has done anything else illegal and, just as he states, did in fact just want to make a completely new life and begin afresh.
McDermott is NOT WANTED by any law enforcement agency nor does he have any local, state or federal warrants for his arrest. He is not and has not been accused of a crime. He was simply wanted for questioning regarding his disappearance.
He is no longer wanted.
